Song of the week this week is from Sydney, Australia and takes the shape of The Maladies.

On a rainy Sunday afternoon in December (2006), myself and Johnny Vance took a trip to The Annandale Hotel to see this band, hungover from Homebake Festival the day previously. Dark, edgy, blues notes broken by Daniele Marando's exquisit voice left a mark imprinted in the very depths of my ears (unable to be retrieved with cotton buds).

Two years on, an album complete and the possibility to listen again to the songs heard that day (with new ones too). Song of the week is the opening number from that very gig. A whirlwind of music that Daniele (and the band) have so masterfully played to sit perfectly with his incredible voice and lyrics.
