A piece about how driving for long periods can be confusing and how we came to find New Mexico in the wintertime, 2007. Albuquerque band Lousy Robot and journalist and editor Laura Marrich are featured. As well as alcohol and cold, cold sleeping arrangements.
Australian band Old Man River embarked on a heart-warming project earlier this year to offer disaster stricken Japan some good tidings in the wake of their devastating earthquake. An old Japanese tradition states that whomever folds a thousand origami paper cranes will be gratned one wish. Ohad Rein, leader of Old Man River, set out to do this with the intention of wishing Japan a speedy recovery from the events of the 11th March 2011.
From Brock Zeman at Muddytimes.ca: "If you were to drive through the heart of Lanark County down the winding #511 Hwy, somewhere down Watsons Corners Road this man scribbles away in his little log cabin and churns out great song after great song. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you my best friend: HIPPI (and his dog Potato)."
