// MAKING THINGS WITH NOTHING \\

A BOOK ABOUT THE MAKING OF THE DOCUMENTARY GLOCAL SCENE

MAKING THINGS WITH NOTHING is a literary expansion of insights from the documentary on local music scenes from around the world, GLOCAL SCENE. The book delves further into how geographical position and the social interaction of a country/city shapes its musical landscape and sheds light on the process of trying to be creative in a rapidly changing media climate.

MAKING THINGS WITH NOTHING has three sections: the early beginnings of wanting to pursue a creative life but being too scared to fully commit; the adventure of traveling from country to country for a year on a tight budget (including living with strangers, seeing live music every day, living on a terrible diet of chips, not sleeping, being knocked over by taxis (note plural), being exhausted, being happy, being on TV, and finding phenomenal music from all over the globe); and the hard slog of trying to finish a film whilst trying to eat, not become an alcoholic (or get knocked over by taxis), and have a normal life with relationships and sleeping.
